Dragon? Or Princess?
A downloadable game for Android
A simple game for babies and toddlers to learn the names of animals or the sounds they make. The game does not require the baby/toddler to be interacting with the phone itself (no "Screen time").
A predefined set of animals is configured by a "game master" (e.g. a parent) by selecting a sound and pairing it with an NFC tag*. The NFC tag is then attached to a corresponding toy animal/figure/picture using e.g. adhesive tape. Before starting the game session, the phone is placed screen down on the floor or a table and optionally covered with a blanket or sheet of paper to avoid distraction by the device itself.
Once a game session is started, the first sound is played and the child has to find the corresponding animal by placing the NFC tag on the phone. A correct match is rewarded with a positive tune and the next sound is played.
* Usually there are NFC tags available in every household, e.g. in the form of NFC-enabled credit cards, bank cards, public transport tickets, etc.
